Is This Yours? Man Finds Valuable Item on Yellowstone River
A Montana man is searching for the owner of an item found along the Yellowstone River near Gardiner.
On June 13, 2022, historic flooding wreaked havoc on Montanans living in communities surrounding Yellowstone National Park. The effects of the flooding can still be seen along the banks of the Yellowstone River. Piles of debris including pieces of homes, trees, and other items are scattered along the river.
A man recently found an item tangled in debris near Gardiner and hopes to track down the owner. The man, who goes by the nickname "Mudd Buster", shared pictures and a description of the item on the Montana Rock Hounds Facebook page.
So, I was hounding near Gardiner where the destruction happened on the Yellowstone a few weeks back and came across this tangled up amongst some other debris from some sort of structure. I've had it hanging on my mirror ever since. I know it's a long shot but it would be great to find the owner/owners of this as I imagine it could be important.
The item that the man is referring to is a Holy Rosary, also known as prayer beads. The cross and small beads that make up Rosaries are one of the most familiar and recognized symbols of the Catholic religion.
We spoke with the person that posted the pictures on Facebook, and he told us he really wants to return the beads to their rightful owner. If you know the owner, please send us an App Chat on our station app.
