BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 60-mile stretch of Interstate 90 in eastern Montana has reopened although water remains on the highway in some areas.
The Montana Department of Transportation says one lane is open in both directions.
The highway was shut down last weekend between Hardin and the Wyoming state line and on the Wyoming side of the border because of flooding caused by rapid snow melt and ice jams along the Little Bighorn River in Montana.
The snowmelt has prompted flood warnings and advisories for central, northeastern and southeastern Montana.
A developing spring storm is predicted to bring more rain and snow to the area Wednesday through Friday. A winter storm watch for up to 24 inches (61 centimeters) of snow has been posted for the Cooke City and Red Lodge area.
