Did you lose weight? Quit smoking? Learn a new language? Learn to play an instrument? Visit a foreign country? Start a money saving budget? Reduce debt?

What happened? — February?

I have to admit I am in the same boat. I didn’t keep the resolutions I swore I would. I kept saying this year would be different. But alas it didn’t happen.

To those of you who got serious and kept your resolutions more power to you — but of course the rest of us hate you.

June Resolutions

The great thing about life is that it’s full of second chances. Just because its mid year doesn’t mean you can’t start again. In fact it might even be easier trying to improve now than back in January.

If you want to lose weight you can walk or jog in much nicer weather. Instead of shoveling snow you can mow the lawn.

Travel in Montana is much easier in summer than winter so why not hit the open road and visit some of those bucket list places.

Find An Incentive or Self-Motivation

Most of us fail in our resolutions because we don’t fully understand the meaning of the word. Resolution means “resolute” unbending, unyielding, achieved at any cost.

Just wishing for it to happen won’t get it done. We still have to put in the effort. So why don’t we?

The simple answer is that we don’t have a real plan of action to make that resolution a reality. We want to quite smoking but have no plan.

How will we deal with cravings? What triggers us to smoke?

Those losing weight are faced with the same challenge. Most people can do it for a time then put it right back on. Why?

No real lasting change in eating habits.

Create A Daily Regimen

You didn’t gain your weight in one day so don’t expect miracles right away.

Your daily routine created your current situation so changes to your routine can take you where you want to be over time.

Planning is usually the last thing we do when setting goals or making life changing decisions.

It’s a simple thing but also the most important thing for success.

Some Final Thoughts

Where will you be in December? You have a second chance to do all those things you want. You still have the ability but are you “resolute” this time?

Is there a plan of attack that will make your dream a reality?

Sure there is. You just have to find it and create a plan that works for you. No two people or the same of should they be.

That’s why no diets or money plans work for everyone. Once you see and accept that you can accomplish what you want the plan will fall in place.

Go ahead. Take another shot. You can do it.
