Ho Ho Ho. Montana Makes The Top 5 States When It Comes To This.
The countdown to Christmas is winding down and all across Montana folks have their trees decorated and their Christmas lights up. The hot chocolate and warm apple cider are flowing, Christmas songs are on the radio, and kids are trying to be a little less naughty and a little more nice.
Christmas is a special time here in Big Sky Country, as we live in the middle of a literal winter wonderland. There are very few states in which you can cut down your Christmas tree (with a permit) in a national forest. So, you would think Montana would rank near the top for places to be during holiday season, right?
If you said yes, you would be correct.
Montana is ranked as one of the most festive states in the country for the holidays. In fact, according to data from innerbody, we make the Top 5, settling in at spot #5.
So, which states are more festive than Montana? Wisconsin, North Dakota, New Hampshire, and West Virginia. With the exception of West Virginia, the Top 5 are all cold-weather states.
Here in Montana, we do Christmas right, with strolls, sleigh rides, downtowns decorated to the max, and parade after parade. Montana has not only a certain holiday charm, but a good dose of nostalgia as well. Not to mention, many of the smaller towns across Montana look like a scene out of a Hallmark Christmas movie.
Unfortunately, Christmas seems to come and go pretty quickly, and before we know it the decorations will come down until next year. So enjoy all that Montana offers when it comes to Christmas, because much like the song says, it's the most wonderful time of the year.
