High Speed Chase Through Ronan After Car Left Running Stolen in Pablo [AUDIO]
The following is a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Shortly before 1:00 pm on Friday, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies took a report of a stolen Chevrolet Impala that had been taken from the Pablo area.
Just over an hour later, family members of the car’s owner of the stolen car located it Northeast of Pablo and began to follow it.
A Lake County Deputy caught up with the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver. The driver then led the deputy on a pursuit into Ronan and west onRound Butte Road. At one point the driver went off the roadway but was able to regain control of the vehicle and drove back into Ronan on Round Butte Road.
The pursuit ended at the Ronan Middle School Gym parking lot when the driver pulled into the parking lot and stopped the vehicle. Following a brief struggle in which the driver was tased, the driver was taken into custody.
The driver, Delicia Fayef Blackweasel, a 21 year old Ronan native, was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Felony Theft of the automobile, Felony Criminal Endangerment along with multiple traffic offenses for the theft and subsequent pursuit which reached speeds over 90 miles per hour while the suspect drove head-on at oncoming traffic.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office would like to request anyone who may have been involved in the pursuit or may have been run off the road by the driver to contact the Sheriff’s Office to make a statement. The Sheriff’s Office would also like to remind citizens not to allow their vehicles to run unattended even for short periods.
