Fugitive Arrested Trying to Walk Into Montana From Canada
A fugitive who has been wanted for over 29 years on drug smuggling charges was caught trying to walk into the U.S. from Canada.
Jacob Moritz appeared in U.S. District Court in New York City yesterday. He was arrested after a driver saw him emerging from the woods near the border in Montana. He is one of four defendants indicted in 1989 for smuggling more than 120 tons of pot and hashish from Jamaica, Morocco, Colombia, Thailand and Lebanon.
Moritz may have been trying to contact his family who live in the U.S.
