The former Butte Central music teacher and band director has denied charges that he provided alcohol to students during a state basketball tournament in Hamilton and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl.

Scott Yorke denied felony charges of sexual intercourse without consent, sexual assault and three counts of felony criminal endangerment. He also denied a dozen misdemeanor charges — six each of endangering the welfare of children and unlawful transactions with children.

Charging documents allege Yorke provided alcohol to students on two nights in early March and sexually assaulted one girl when he was left alone with her.

Yorke resigned from Butte Central on March 10.

District Judge James Haynes allowed the 26-year-old — who is free after posting a $100,000 bond — to leave the state to live with his parents in Oregon.
