Bullock and Tester Remember Ruth Melcher

Governor Steve Bullock’s statement on the passing of Ruth Melcher, wife of former U.S. Senator John Melcher:

“Last week, Montana lost one of our greatest residents. Ruth Melcher may have been born next door in South Dakota, but she was Montanan through and through. As a child, she saw first-hand the economic hardships brought on by the Great Depression, and this influenced her passion for improving opportunities for others, and always being the first to help her friends and neighbors. Her absence will leave a hole in the heart of her family and loved ones, and the entire state of Montana.”

Senator Jon Tester's statement on the passing of Ruth Melcher:

“Sharla and I join families across Montana to celebrate the life of Ruth Melcher.  Ruth dedicated her life to family, public service, and making her state and nation a better place.  We are grateful to have known Ruth and offer our condolences to John and the entire Melcher family.”
