Lt. Mark Johnson came by the studio Friday morning to talk about the Police Departments big event coming up August 7th.

It is the National Night Out against Crime from 5 – 8:00 pm. This year's event will be held in the southwest parking lot at South 11th and West College on the MSU campus.

Events include a dunk tank of local celebrities to raise money for the Caden Shrauger cancer fund; Smokey Bear; McGruff the Crime Dog; Champ the Bobcat; lots of police, fire and emergency vehicles; a hands-only CPR class; a K-9 demonstration; a bicycle rodeo, to include free child-sized bicycle helmets while they last and a free bicycle giveaway to one lucky child; crime and safety information; child ID kits to include fingerprints and photo; a drop-off box for unused prescription drugs; kid's games; great giveaways; and food vendors.
