Mavens Market, a locally owned and operated specialty food market is opening mid-November in downtown Bozeman.

The market will be located at 8th & Main in the building formerly occupied by the Country Flower Shop.

We spoke with co-founders Brie Thompson and Val Flammang to get the scoop on Mavens Market, and what to expect when it opens.

Let's start with the definition of Maven. It means 'an expert or connoisseur.' Mavens Market wants to help everyone become food experts by allowing people to experience quality food. It will feature gelato, coffee, wine, meats, cheeses, oil & vinegar, and more.

Mavens Market will feature products from small family artisan producers from around the world. The gelato will be made locally at the market.

The market will offer meats and cheeses, fresh cut to order. They will sell meat and cheese boards and catering style platters as well.

The owners also want to make sure people love the food that they are buying before they take it home. They are huge advocates of allowing customers to sample products before they buy them to ensure customers are satisfied with their purchase.
