Bozeman Man Pleads Not Guilty to Homicide Charge
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — A 56-year-old Bozeman man accused of fatally shooting his female roommate has pleaded not guilty in a Montana court.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that William F. Bailey entered his plea to felony deliberate homicide on Wednesday before Gallatin County District Judge John Brown. Bailey remains in custody at the Gallatin County jail on $1 million bail.
Court documents show Bailey is accused of shooting 59-year-old Cynthia Carol Wills, of Bozeman, on April 4, after he became upset that she was allegedly spending time with another man.
The charge carries up to life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of 10 years. There is also the possibility of an additional 10 years because a gun was used.
