Belgrade Under Municipal Water Use Restrictions Beginning June 12th
Beginning tomorrow July 12th, 2012 at 1:00pm, Belgrade municipal water will be restricted for the purpose of outdoor irrigation purposes. This means Belgrade citizens are only allowed to water their lawns on days permitted by the below restrictions.
Properties located South of Main Street shall be restricted to outdoor irrigation on even numbered days only. For example, if your property is located South of Main Street you may water you lawns on even numbered days, July 12,14,16,18,20,22, etc…
Properties located North of Main Street shall be restricted to outdoor irrigation on odd numbered days only. For example, if your property is located North of Main Street you may water your lawns on odd numbered days, July 13,15,17,19,21,23, etc….
This restriction has been put in place per the Belgrade City Code, 9-1-6-1 AUTHORITY TO REGULATE. The City Code has been enacted due to the heavy amount of water being used in 2012. In July 24, 2011, the Belgrade pumped 2,646,000 gallons the highest use day of the year and right now Belgrade is currently pumping around 4,000,000 gallons per day. This condition may limit the fire flows, pump redundancy, and storage reserves.
This restriction is temporary and will be lifted as soon as conditions permit. If you have any questions, please call Steve Klotz, Director of Public Works at 388-3760. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Effective: July 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
