Be Grateful That Bozeman Isn’t One of These 50 Cities
People seem to complain about a lot of different things in Bozeman, but this is definitely something to be thankful for.
I was on Facebook recently and came across an article published by CBS News. The article was about the 50 most rat-infested cities in America. I don't know about you, but rats really creep me out.
Montana has its fair share of animals, but you usually don't see very many rats, and that's a good thing. You might see quite a few gophers or raccoons, but seeing a rat is pretty rare.
I was in an abandoned cabin one time and was confronted by a Packrat. It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. In my opinion, the only acceptable rat is Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Rat infestations are more common in larger cities, so let's hope Bozeman doesn't become one anytime soon. Rats are gross and are known to carry quite a few diseases. Ain't nobody got time for that.
Apparently, the pest company Orkin keeps track of the cities with the most rats. That's how data for the article was compiled. Orkin says that during the pandemic, rats were forced to find new food sources in most places which led to an increase of rats in homes.
If you're wondering what city topped the list, Chicago, Illinois was named the most rat-infested city in America. Bozeman may not be perfect, but at least we can sleep peacefully at night without having to worry about rats.
