A ban on dogs, not allowing them in barbershops and salons in Montana has failed. Enthusiastic pet owners helped shoot down the proposal to ban man's (and woman's) best friend. The Montana Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists voted unanimously this week against the proposal. In 2001 Montana ended a ban on dogs in barbershops with requirements that the shops have insurance and the dogs be vaccinated. The Montana Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists board wanted to reinstate the ban, claiming that having dogs in salons poses sanitation and safety concerns.
