Ambassador Max Baucus Announced to be University of Montana Commencement Speaker
The University of Montana announced who will be the 2015 commencement speaker for the 118th annual graduation ceremonies.
"We have invited Ambassador Max Baucus to give the commencement address and he has accepted. We're excited that he will be back in Missoula in mid-May," UM Vice President of Communications Peggy Kuhr said. "It's in Washington-Grizzly stadium and that is regardless of the weather."
U of M has had many notable speakers share their stories with audiences in the past including Montana Governor Steve Bullock and business leaders including Ian Davidson of D.A. Davidson companies.
"We're hoping that this year that what Ambassador Baucus will be able to do is really give our graduating students and their families kind of a message about his career, the importance of the values they've learned and he's chosen to title his talk 'Montana Values,'" Kuhr said. "So we want our audience to be able to focus on that and see him as an inspiration regardless of political affiliation."
UM commencement is set for Saturday, May 16.
