It's a parent's worst nightmare.

An 11 year old girl in Cody, Wyoming was abducted by a man who's still on the loose.

He lured her into his car by asking her to help him look for his missing puppy.  When she approached the car, he pulled out a gun and told her to get in the car.  Hunters later found the girl, who was sexually assaulted, in the wilderness.

According to an article in the Casper Star Tribune, the abductor is a white man 55 to 60 years old, weighing 185 to 200 pounds and with short, strawberry blond or white hair and a neatly trimmed beard or mustache of the same color. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown shirt and a tan baseball cap.  The man was last seen driving a white SUV, 2004 or 2005 white Toyota SR-5 4-Runner., with gray leather seats in the front and an open back area with a mattress on the floor.   Authorities say he may have removed the cargo box.

There was also a 10 year old girl abducted in Denver, Colorado.  A body was found, and authorities expect to positively identify it as the missing girl's today.  Authorities are trying to determine if the two crimes are related.  If they are, that means this guy is on the move and could show up anywhere.

PLEASE talk to your children about stranger danger.  Discuss different scenarios and how to manage them.  Tell them NOT to be afraid to scream and run away, and to never even APPROACH a strangers car, no matter what they may say.

Here's a great video to watch and share with your kids, and this quiz that is perfect for little ones.
