What’s The Most Kid-Friendly Place In Montana?
Montana is a popular tourist destination year-round, and the most common visitors are typically families.
When people come to Montana, they tend to hit the big attractions like Yellowstone, Glacier, and Flathead Lake. These are incredible places, especially for adults who enjoy nature and great views, but we wanted to know what the best destinations for the whole family were. We've done a list of the most boring places in Montana, but what about kid-friendly?
Country Living made a list of the 50 Amazing Places in the U.S. You've Got To Take Your Kids, and the choice for Montana is interesting. Our most kid-friendly place is Virginia City.
Virginia City is one of the last truly Western towns that still exists, and tourists flock here during the summer for the historical experience. The Bale of Hay, the oldest bar in Montana, is still open, and they also have a legendary candy store.
Sure, there are tons of activities, such as mining for gold and exploring, but is it the best place for kids? Well, I think it depends on the time of year. A lot of Virginia City's most kid-friendly activities are available during the summer only, and I don't think kids would be as interested in their indoor activities.
It's tough to decide where the best place to take your kids is. I would personally say Whitefish, Montana. During the winter there is Whitefish Mountain Resort, and during the summer Whitefish Lake and Glacier are nearby.
It all depends on what your kids tend to enjoy doing in their free time. If you're looking for action, Whitefish has lakes, mini golf, and a water park nearby. Virginia City has more cool historical activities, like mining for gold.
Happy kids tends to make things easier for everyone, so make sure you plan your trip to Montana accordingly.
