This Popular Sweet Treat is Unique to Montana. Have You Tried It?
Montana is a very unique state in a lot of ways. There are some things that can't be found anywhere else in the world. From precious gemstones to food, Montana is truly one-of-a-kind.
In the past, we've discussed popular food items that are essentially a part of the state's history. Pork chop sandwiches and pasties are a couple of great examples that first appeared during Montana's mining boom. Both of them required simple ingredients and made feeding hungry miners a little easier. Butte, Montana is known as the birthplace of both pork chop sandwiches and pasties. Even though that was a long time ago, Montanans still seem to love them.
Yogo Sapphires are also something that can only be found in Montana, and if you weren't aware, the Yogo Sapphire is the only North American gemstone in Britain's Crown Jewels. The majority of Yogo Sapphires are found in Yogo Gulch in Judith Basin County, Montana, and the mines are located on private property.
