There were two officer involved shootings in Missoula within 24 hours over the New Year's holiday.
The first was early New Years Eve which involved a Missoula Police officer who fatally shot a domestic disturbance suspect inside the man's vehicle, when he refused to stop strangling a female hostage.

The second occurred near Evaro, when a Missoula County Sheriff's deputy fired two shots into a vehicle driven by a man who was using his vehicle as a weapon. the man was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
