Tester, Cruz Hammer Google on the Hill
I have to pat Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) on the back for being willing to take a shot at Google on Capitol Hill Tuesday. Democrats and Republicans alike had some pointed questions for the tech giant, including a must-see back and forth between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and the company's representative.
WJLA-TV has a great report highlighting the explosive video footage captured by Project Veritas, which shows a Google executive lamenting about President Trump's election in 2016. That same Google exec then goes on to talk about Google changing their algorithms to try and prevent Trump's election from happening again.
WJLA-TV noted concerns raised by both Democrats and Republicans, and added this from Senator Jon Tester (D-MT):
Concerned about their unchecked power, Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mt., said he believes big tech will soon be able to affect election outcomes.
"I'm probably going to be dead and gone—and I'm probably thankful for it—when all this s--- comes to fruition, because I think that, this scares me to death," he said addressing the Google representative. "You guys could literally sit down at your board meeting, I believe, and determine who's going to be the next president of the United States."
Beth Baumann with Townhall.com also has a great piece featuring a back and forth between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and the Google rep who testified at the hearing. Click here for the video.
