We all know who Kevin Costner is. He's starred in several movies throughout his career, and most recently, he's been getting a lot of attention for his role as John Dutton in the hit Paramount+ series Yellowstone. Montanans tend to have mixed feelings regarding the show, but one thing is for certain, it's incredibly popular.

I was scrolling through Facebook earlier today, and saw a question posted on the MONTANA-tude! page. A user had asked a question about Kevin Costner and it has been getting a ton of comments. Here's the question.

Is Kevin Costner a Cowboy?

Apparently, the person has gotten into an argument with a friend, and the friend was adamant that Kevin Costner is not a cowboy. The user clarified that they weren't talking about the character he plays on the show. They were referring to how he lives his life.

Most of the responses said, no, Kevin Costner is not a cowboy. The fact that he owns a ranch in Colorado was brought up, and people quickly responded that owning a ranch doesn't make you a cowboy. That's very true, there are a lot of people that own ranches throughout Montana that aren't cowboys. Here's one of the comments.

Wearing a hat, playing a cowboy, or owning a ranch does not make you a cowboy.

I decided to ask a few of my coworkers, and all of them pretty much said the same thing. Kevin Costner isn't a cowboy, he's a Hollywood actor.

If you want to learn about a few of Montana's real cowboys, check out the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame. One of the recent inductees is our friend, Warren Johnson. If you know Warren, you know he's the definition of a real cowboy.

Yellowstone Actor, Kevin Costner Rents Out 160 Acre Ranch

Kevin Costner recently stated that he would be renting out his Aspen, Colorado home. Don't get me wrong, the "Dunbar Ranch" is beautiful. Sitting on 160 acres of land, the ranch comes with many perks.

You will be able to enjoy fly fishing on the river, a lazy day next to the lake, and a game of baseball on the private baseball field just to list a few of the extra amenities.

Montana has a handful of celebrities that own homes here in Big Sky Country. Is this going to be a new trend among the elite?

For $36,000 per night, you could book a spectacular stay at Costner's Aspen Ranch Home.

Behind The Scenes Peek at Yellowstone Prequel Filming in Butte

Production on the new Yellowstone prequel, "1923" is officially underway in Butte, MT. Here's what we found on a huge outdoor set.

PICS: See Inside the Historic Texas Ranch Where the New 'Yellowstone: 6666' Spinoff Is Filmed

The massive, historic Texas ranch where the new Yellowstone spinoff Yellowstone: 6666 is filming has sold for just under $200 million, and pictures show a property that is truly part of Texas history.

The 6666 Ranch — better-known as the Four Sixes Ranch — in Guthrie, Texas, dates back to 1870. The ranch centers around a 13-bedroom, 13-bathroom, 13,280-square-foot main residence, which is constructed of quarry rock that was hauled to Guthrie by wagon. The ranch also includes vast, sweeping fenced pastures, farmland, fenced-in pens for cattle, a more recent addition for horses, a water filtration plant that serves the ranch's water needs and more.

There are separate camp manager's homes in both the North Camp and the South Camp of the ranch, which encompasses nearly 225 square miles of land. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is part of a group of investors who recently acquired the property for $192 million, and he has been shooting his new show out there in recent months.
