EXPERT TIP #1: If you Uber home, meet your ride a block or two off of Main Street. It can get VERY busy in downtown during Music on Main. Ubers are widely available but the pickup will be much easier for your driver if you meet outside of the busiest area of downtown. (Not to mention there are two blocks of Main that are closed to vehicle traffic during the event.)

EXPERT TIP #2: Come a little early to avoid food truck/vendor lines. It gets busier the later it gets. The Music on Main vendors are great at keeping things moving but they're generally ready to rock at 6:30pm and music doesn't start until 7pm.

EXPERT TIP #3: Bring lots of $1 and $10 bills. That way you've got plenty of cash to try the food vendors, grab a drink, and have tip money to boot. (There's nothing wrong with cards at most places, but cash works better if there's any problem with power or cell service :-) )

EXPERT TIP #4: Don't bring any outside alcohol to Music on Main. There are bouncers and police all over the place and they already have a busy job. Alcohol and beverages are available for purchase at DOZENS of downtown businesses. Cans and bottles are not allowed during Music on Main. Plus, it's important for you to get a wristband as proof of age from one of the downtown bars. Let's play by the rules and enjoy the night.

EXPERT TIP #5: Leave the dogs at home. Even though it's already a rule, folks always seem to bring their dog to Music on Main. It's not a great idea even if Fido is "super well behaved." There are packed streets full of pedestrians, loud music, lots of kids, and it's way too easy to get tangled up with the leash. Not to mention, it's already stated...no dogs allowed.
