Police: So Far No Criminal Evidence in Bozeman Fire

The investigation continues into the fire that consumed a new building under construction last Thursday in downtown Bozeman.

The fire at the SOBO Lofts near Babcock and 8th started in the middle of the night and investigators announced today that they have yet to find anything suggesting that the fire was criminally set. A release from the city of Bozeman says "all parties are cooperating with the investigation."

We spoke with Detective Joe Swanson with the Bozeman Police Department who told us with a building of this size, there is a lot of debris to sort through while trying to determine a cause of the fire. They have not received any tips from the public that would suggest criminal intent, but at this point, that cannot be completely ruled out.
