One Person Dead After Stabbing in Bozeman
According to the Bozeman Police Department, a Bozeman resident died following a stabbing at a residence on Thursday, July 7.
At approximately 12:50 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, the Bozeman Police Department responded to what was initially reported as a medical call in the 4200 block of Brenden Street in Bozeman. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an individual with significant injuries.

Despite lifesaving measures taken by medical personnel, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.
In a press release, the Bozeman Police Department said that another individual came to the residence, and then proceeded to confront the victim before stabbing him repeatedly.
The Bozeman Police Department is still working to positively identify the victim, who is said to be a Hispanic male around 18 years old.
The suspect, Francisco Padilla-Canales, was arrested and charged with Deliberate Homicide, Aggravated Burglary, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Tampering With Witnesses and Informants, all felonies. Padilla-Canales is currently being held without bond at the Gallatin County Detention Center.
The Bozeman Police Department said that the incident was isolated, and there was not, and is not, a threat to the safety of the public. Bozeman Police Department Detective division is continuing to investigate the incident. American Medical Response, Bozeman Fire, and the Gallatin Count Sheriff's Office assisted in the incident.
This is an ongoing investigation. More information will be added when it becomes available.
