One Of Bozeman’s Most Popular Stores Is Closing And Here’s Why.
Well, this is a bummer.
The last couple of years has been tough on businesses here in Bozeman. We've had a pandemic and a shortage of workers, which have caused a whole lot of business owners and managers some pretty big headaches. In fact, several businesses have had to "close up shop" so to speak as they just weren't able to keep up.
You can add another one to that list.
The Bozeman Goodwill store will officially close on March 31st. The store, which is located at 2130 Simmental Way. The store, which has been a fixture in Bozeman for the last 10 years is closing due to a staffing shortage.
Chelle Fried, who is a spokesperson for the company told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that it's always been difficult to staff the store. According to the Chronicle, Fried said:
“The staffing shortage is so bad in the Bozeman community that we’ve been struggling for years, even pre-pandemic, to hire people”
Personally, I'm a fan of Goodwill, as it's a great place to go and shop for...well, everything really. You will certainly see a wide variety of shoppers in their stores, no matter their socio-economic background. My wife has a ton of clothes from Goodwill and I've found some pretty cool Holiday decorations at the stores over the years. In fact, I would say have of my neckties came from a Goodwill store.
Right now all merchandise in the Bozeman store is 50 percent off, but what about the other Montana stores? Are we in danger of losing those as well? According to Fried and the Chronicle, only the Bozeman location will be closing.
For those wondering where the next nearest Goodwill store is, there is a Belgrade Goodwill that is located at 6161 Jackrabbit Lane. All the Bozeman employees have been given the option to transfer to the Belgrade location.
Once again, the final day for the Bozeman location will be the 31st of this month.
