Luckily, Great Divide isn't too far of a drive from Bozeman. It's the perfect opportunity for a trip with friends. If you don't want to drive to Helena to go skiing, you will have to wait for the other ski areas near Bozeman to open.

Big Sky Resort is scheduled to open on Thanksgiving, November 24th, and ticket prices aren't terrible for that weekend. Bridger Bowl and Showdown Montana have their opening days scheduled for Friday, December 9th.

Many folks won't consider going skiing or snowboarding at smaller ski areas in Montana, which we think is a huge mistake. Places like the Great Divide get great snow, are affordable for families, and have a laid-back atmosphere. They usually have cool events, like night skiing, as well. The small ski areas are preferred by many locals who want to hit the slopes without the massive crowds.

If you don't have plans this weekend and need to shred some powder, you should head to Great Divide and have loads of fun.
