It may cost you a little more to check out some of the resorts here in Montana in the near future.

KTVQ is reporting that ten resort communities, including Big Sky Resort, Whitefish and West Yellowstone, are asking the state legislature to raise their existing resort tax by 1% to help pay for infrastructure needs.

Most of these places can tax up to 3% on hotels, restaurants, gifts and other items.

This extra 1% would be specifically for infrastructure.

How would you feel about these resort communities raising their resort tax by 1%?

For more details and to see all the resort communities involved go to KTVQ.
