Montana Is On A Death Train. Can We Stop It Before It’s Too Late?
I'll be honest with you guys, it's a scary world we are living in and these numbers make it even scarier.
There was a time when drugs were hidden, people were ashamed of their usage or embarrassed by a close loved one's use. It almost seems like it has become the new fad for some today.
Everywhere you go, you will, and do, see people who are under the influence of some sort of mind-altering substance. Alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, etc.

Montana has a problem and it is being talked about nationwide. Fox News and many other news stations have reported about Montana and the outrageous numbers of death associated with fentanyl here. After working in a treatment center, I will say this, fentanyl is one of the scariest drugs out there.
WHAT IS FENTANYL?
"Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use as an analgesic (pain relief) and anesthetic. It is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin as an analgesic." - DEA
The amount of fentanyl it takes for one to overdose on is so minuscule, you wouldn't even know it was there. THAT is scary as hell.
See that tiny white stuff next to the penny? That is a deadly amount of fentanyl.
From May 22 to June 1st of 2022, EIGHT people died from fentanyl overdoses. EIGHT PEOPLE IN 9 DAYS. I can hardly describe how incredibly sad this is. There are signs of an overdose that everyone should be educated about, and know what steps to take in the case of an overdose.
SIGNS OF A FENTANYL OVERDOSE:
- stupor
- changes in pupillary size
- cold and clammy skin
- cyanosis
- coma
- respiratory failure leading to death
If you know that someone in your home is struggling with opioid addiction, make sure you have NARCAN, an opioid overdose treatment, in your home. You can get NARCAN from ANY pharmacy. You do not have to have a prescription to get this life-saving medication.
We have to educate ourselves and make people of ALL ages aware of the effects of fentanyl and other drugs.
