In fact, Montana ranks 3rd when it comes to the best hunting states in America, according to Forbes. Forbes goes on to say the following regarding Montana:

While the mountain goats, sheep, moose, elk, black bear, and deer dominate the western mountains, eastern Montana offers exceptional hunting for sharptails, pheasants, Hungarian partridge, waterfowl, and whitetail deer.

One of the reasons for such a high ranking is the population of people versus the population of wildlife.

Because of the size and terrain of Montana, combined with a relatively low population of humans, we're considered a hunter's paradise. Whether it's bow or firearm season, Montana hunters look forward to being out in nature and harvesting an animal to fill their freezers for the long winter months.

Several of my out-of-state friends are big-time hunters, and coming to Montana to hunt is certainly on their bucket list. Very few states have the vast range of wildlife that we do here, so hunters from all over the country dream of spending time in our outdoors.

Are you one of Montana's many hunters? What is your favorite thing to hunt?
