Man Charged in Montana Highway Worker’s Death

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Prosecutors have filed charges in the death of a highway worker who was struck by a flatbed truck on an Interstate 90 off-ramp in Billings.
The Billings Gazette reports 28-year-old Ethan Anderson was charged Friday with vehicular homicide while under the influence and two counts of criminal endangerment stemming from the Oct. 24 death of 52-year-old Jeffrey Dyekman.
Prosecutors say Anderson appeared to "plow into the construction zone without warning," and blood tests showed he had in his system an impairing substance often ingested by "huffing" compressed air. A can of Dust-Off with the top removed was found in his truck.
Dyekman worked for the Montana Department of Transportation for nearly three decades.
Online jail documents do not indicate if Anderson has hired an attorney.
