Lake County Sheriff Nabs Escapee Wanted for Drugs and Burglary
Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said on Friday, that 29 year-old fugitive Richard Anthony Davis was apprehended and taken into custody on Wednesday in Ronan.
“Davis was on conditional release for prior drug offenses and attempted escape, and had been eluding our officers for several weeks,” Bell said. “He was wanted for fleeing the scene of an accident in mid-march in which his girlfriend sustained a serious leg injury, and then in late March he was suspected of driving s stolen vehicle and after being pursued by deputies, fled on foot. We set up surveillance at a location where informants had said he would be on Wednesday, and Davis was then arrested without any opportunity to resist or flee the scene.”
Bell said two search warrants were executed in Polson.
“The first was in cooperation with the Polson Police Department, in which Fawn Cain was arrested and charged with possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, and two others were also cited for drug possession. In addition, a gun and other stolen property from recent burglaries at Linderman School and a local business in Polson were also recovered. The second search warrant was executed in Pablo with the help of Tribal Police in which drugs and paraphernalia were seized.”
Bell said the investigation is ongoing.
