The VA Desperately Needs Volunteer Drivers in Montana

The VA is in desperate need of volunteer drivers to drive veterans to their healthcare appointments. Gee, you think? I remember when they were kicking veteran volunteer drivers to the curb over stupid mask and COVID vaccine mandates.

First off, let me say thank you to Dr. Sabrina Clark. She is the director of the VA's Center for Development & Civic Engagement at the national level. She joined me on the air recently to talk about how the VA desperately needs volunteer drivers. And thanks to her for getting the word out.

I did sound off quite a bit when she joined me on the show, though. If you ask me the VA owes a major apology to the volunteer drivers they kicked to the curb when they tried to force the COVID shot on them. Mask mandates also drove volunteers away. And then, even the people who were willing to put up with that said they had to wait months just to finish all the exams and bureaucratic approval processes.

Here's what really set me off: the VA is still allowing local leaders to set their own policies when it comes to masks and COVID shot requirements, according to my chat with Dr. Clark. I encouraged her to please share our feedback with the Secretary of the VA on what a slap in the face that is to all who have served. We saw women who were forced to wear masks overseas, we don't want to be forced into something like that here in America just because some local bureaucrat may decide to implement it.
