When Montana’s Flint Rasmussen First Spotted Cody Johnson
There's nothing like driving around Montana and listening to country music by folks like Cody Johnson. Or better yet, add him to your pontoon playlist while you're out on the water- that's what I do.
This was a cool post that caught my eye by Montana's own Flint Rasmussen recently. The rodeo entertainment legend talked about when he first booked Cody Johnson for a show.
Flint Rasmussen: "Over a decade ago, we booked an up-and-coming singer on my Outside the Barrel show during the NFR in Vegas. Former bullrider from Texas, we were told. He showed up with his guitar, and couldn't have been nicer. I will never forget, he sang a cool song called "Dance Her Home" on our little stage at Cowboy Christmas. He became what we call a "friend of the show"...and a friend."
Fast forward to June 21st, 2025 and Flint shared this update: "Last night in San Antonio I snapped this picture as 20,000 people sang every word to that very song. Well done, Cody Johnson. Well done."
What Cody Johnson songs do you have on your boating playlist? I gotta go with "Wild as You"...especially after passing the wild horses above some canyon somewhere. And then of course, there's "Me and My Kind." Some others I've added include "The Painter"..."Diamond in My Pocket"...and I'm sure many others.
What's on your summer boating playlist? Shoot us a message on the app.

Here's some of my favorite Cody Johnson songs to have on the Montana boating playlist.
