Final Polling Update From NRSC Chairman, Montana Senator Daines
All it takes is a victory in his home state of Montana, and the GOP has taken back control of the United States Senate from Chuck Schumer. But look at how close everything appears to be everywhere else.
We caught up with Montana Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) on the eve of the election. He's not only one of two US Senators representing Montana, he's the Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).
It all depends on turnout, but Daines believes Montana is now in reach, and he anticipates a victory for Navy SEAL veteran Tim Sheehy in Montana.
Here's where he sees the rest of the battleground Senate races across the country.
Senator Daines: You start, you look at those rust belt- that blue wall state of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania- Aaron, every one of those states now with our great Republican candidates, they've moved into ties on the polling. We are tied in Pennsylvania today with Dave McCormick, another West Point graduate, 82nd Airborne- where he'll be a great addition to the US Senate. You go to Michigan- Mike Rogers, tied. Mike was the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, an FBI agent, a great patriot, another veteran, an Army Lieutenant. Tied in Michigan. You go to Wisconsin. Eric Hovde, we are tied. And these are not numbers I'm spinning. These are numbers I trust, believe in, and see in our internal polls. Every one of these states is now in a tied position with our Senate candidates. They're tracking very close to President Trump's numbers.
What about the sun belt states?
Daines, who was just with President Trump and JD Vance at the Trump Rally in Vegas, points to the inspirational story of wounded warrior Sam Brown and his wife in Nevada- who both served our country in uniform. He points to the improved numbers for Kari Lake in Arizona.
Senator Daines: That race now has moved to neck and neck in Nevada, and that's why we were all there in Las Vegas for Sam on Saturday. And then you go to Arizona, that race has tightened up with Kari Lake. She's been down four or five points. Latest polls now show that within a couple of points. I think Trump's doing well in Arizona. We'll see what happens there. So these are just these big races. It's a once in a generation opportunity for us to pick up these Democrat seats with President Trump at the top of the ballot to ensure we've got a Senate majority that will work with President Trump and not against him.
