Now that was fast. A surveillance camera screenshot was put out to the public, and Billings Police very quickly found the kidnapping and stolen vehicle suspect...and the children...unharmed.

A report came in Sunday morning, prompting officers to respond to the 1100 block of 1st Ave N regarding a kidnapping and stolen vehicle call. According to the Billings Police Department, "the victim reported his vehicle containing his 2 year old and 3 mon old baby had been stolen with them in it. Police quickly responded and began searching the area for the vehicle. BPD officers located the kids, unharmed, and the vehicle in the 800 block of N 17th. The suspect had fled on foot prior to officers arrival."

The big help came from Club Lux sharing the surveillance video.

"Reviewing the footage, the suspect had an ankle monitor so officers contacted Pre-trial Officer Friedel who was able to identify and assist BPD officers in locating the defendant, Monty REED (19 yo). Monty was arrested and remanded at YCDF for 2 counts kidnapping, motor vehicle theft, drugs and drug paraphernalia. In addition to thanking our officers who did an outstanding job; the BPD would also like to thank Club Lux, Pre-Trial Officer Friedel, YCSO, and MHP for all their help." -Sgt. Schwartz

Connor Lorenz, the owner of Club Lux hailed law enforcement's efforts. "Thank you to BPD for being so quick to help on this. It is very impressive how solid our local police force is. Everyone was found safe and the car was returned!"

Here's a comment from the Billings Police Department Facebook page. Tanner: "Club Lux definitely did not cheap out on their security cams. Good job"
