Happy Birthday! One of Montana's Greatest Towns Turns 114
Today marks a special milestone for one of Montana's most beloved small towns. Nestled in the Gallatin Valley, just west of Bozeman, you'll find the charming town of Manhattan. The town was officially incorporated on May 22, 1911.
The town is overflowing with history and has become a popular place to call home for those who can't afford to live in Bozeman. The town was the site of a massive FBI manhunt, and one of the state's most infamous serial killers was born there. There was even a book written about it. I have lived in Manhattan since 2018, and I love living there. Everything seems to move at a much slower pace. Each summer, the town hosts the highly anticipated Manhattan Potato Festival, which pays homage to the town's farmers and ranchers.
Despite its growth in recent years, Manhattan has been able to maintain its charm and small-town feel. If you want to visit an authentic Montana town, we highly recommend a visit to Manhattan.
We hope you'll join us in wishing Manhattan, Montana, a happy 114th anniversary!
