Could this be the start of a sandwich war in Utah? Maybe this will help make the food more affordable.

Utah has everything you would want for food options, especially when it comes to fast food. Utah has incredible fast food choices, whether you want Mexican, chicken sandwiches, or burgers.

Utah is a perfect place for food franchises to expand or test potential markets because all the cities have growing populations and need more food options.

A well-known West Coast sandwich chain has its eyes on Utah and sees it as a vital part of its future expansion.

Port of Subs prides itself on freshly baked bread, hand-sliced meat, and tasty desserts to enjoy with their meal. Port of Subs has over 130 locations nationwide but plans to add over 60 new spots within the next two years.

The company sees Utah as a hotbed for new locations, including cities like Salt Lake, Provo, and Ogden, among other potential sites.

We have several sandwich franchise locations in Utah, with Subway, Firehouse Subs, and Jersey Mike's, to name a few. There are also hundreds of local sandwich shops that are also serving up incredible sandwiches.

Port of Subs will have an uphill battle entering the Utah market with established sandwich shops. Hopefully, they can differentiate themselves somehow from the other food joints to try and attract customers.

They also need to try not to expand too fast and stretch themselves thin, or they could end up like Quizno's one day.

Only time will tell.
