Montana State had an incredible 2024 season that sadly ended with a loss at the FCS National Championship game.

Montana State lost several prominent star players on both sides of the ball.

The one player everyone loved was Tommy Mellott.

'Touchdown' Tommy burst onto the scene during his freshman season, and the entire fanbase fell in love with his grit and gameplay. It also helped that he was a local kid.

Montana State's Quarterback Situation Is Bright

We are excited for the future of Bobcat football.

Montana State has a promising quarterback room for 2025.

Several quarterbacks will have an opportunity to become the starter.

The quarterback room includes several returning players, but Montana State has a recent transfer who could be a mix of Tommy Mellott and Sean Chambers.

Justin Lamson will play his final year of eligibility at Montana State after stints at Syracuse and Stanford.

Lamson was going to transfer to Bowling Green but switched allegiances due to a coaching change.

Lamson has a history with MSU's head coach, Brent Vigen. Vigen tried recruiting him to Wyoming, but Lamson ended up at Syracuse.

Montana State will have a high-profile quarterback coming in 2026.

Glacier's Jackson Presley turned down offers from Boise State, Arkansas, Arizona, and several other Power 4 schools and will play at Montana State in 2026.
