The first half of January has been filled with weather issues and accidents across Montana's highways. Just about every dangerous weather element showed up somewhere in Montana. Fog, rain, snow, ice - all of it.

Around 1,100 incidents were responded to by the Montana Highway Patrol during the week of January 6th, according to the official DOJ incident map. Slide-offs and crashes occurred across the entire state of Montana, keeping first responders and tow truck operators very busy.

The week of January 6th was packed with weather advisories and warnings. Every day this past week saw dangerous weather, prompting highway closures and many travel delays or cancellations at Montana airports.

Hundreds of people who were flying back to Bozeman from the FCS Championship football game in Frisco, Texas were detoured or delayed on Monday and Tuesday.

Later in the week, I-90 was shut down for many hours around Big Timber due to heavy fog and low visibility. Flights were again delayed across southwest Montana because of those same fog advisories.
