When you want to stay at a cool lodge in Montana, there are endless possibilities. But not all lodge resorts are the same or offer the same things to do. We have found the best resorts in Montana that offer lots of recreation but are reasonably priced.

MEADOW LAKE RESORT (Columbia Falls, MT)

Meadow Lake Resort is open year round and is a family friendly choice for a bargain Montana resort. It's close to so many major Montana attractions like Glacier National Park, but there's also a ton to do on their property.

You can be super active or just chill out with the gorgeous scenery. As far as accommodations go, you have options ranging from an entire condo to a normal hotel room. Other than the obvious allure of Meadow Lake itself, the resort has a game room, a play area, an activities desk, and a golf course.

There's also a full service spa on the property and a lovely outdoor pool area. If you're a member of a travel group or membership program, Meadow Lake Resort is a Gold Crown RCI vacation destination, FYI. Trip Advisor rated Meadow Lake Resort the #3 Best Value of 9 Montana Resorts.

BOULDER CREEK LODGE & RV PARK (Hall, MT)

This is a bit more casual and affordable option on our list, but that's the point - not all resorts are the same and people's wish lists for a good vacation are very different. Boulder Creek Lodge and RV Park are open SEASONALLY, generally opening up for the season on May 1st.

As far as accommodations, Boulder Creek has a wide variety of simple offerings that are perfect for those looking for more of a rustic experience. There are various sized cabins, tipis, a covered wagon, tenting, and RV spots with water and electricity. They also have a bath house for guests and a restaurant on site.

This is the kind of place that proves that you can still have find the "Montana" experience on a budget. Casual vacations in unusual lodging, such as a covered wagon or a tipi, make for some of the best memories. Anyone can enjoy themselves being pampered at a 5 star resort. Folks who like campfires and a little dirt on their shoes have more fun.

"What a gem of a property! This cabin is situated in a beautiful area and is a clean, cozy environment. The showers we’re warm and the towels were cozy. The owners are friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!" (review on Trip Advisor)

LODGE AT WHITEFISH LAKE (Whitefish, MT)

On the fanciest end of the 'reasonable budget' spectrum, we have the Lodge at Whitefish Lake which has lodge rooms, condos, and luxury homes to rent. Shuttle service, a day spa, pools and hot tubs, and award-winning dining. It is open year round. And who doesn't love a poolside tiki bar?

This is a full service resort, and therefore the prices reflect that. But by high-end Montana resort standards, the Lodge at Whitefish Lake still qualifies as a Montana bargain. It's a beautiful lakeside setting with proper resort services, gourmet dining and access to the most desirable activities in Montana.
