As we know, e-cigarettes and vapes and other tobacco/nicotine based products are not good for us, but the increase in sales of e-cigarettes and vapes is only going to continue to increase.

The Federal Trade Commission stated 190.2 billion cigarettes were sold in the United States in 2021 and disposable vape sales are up 196.2% since February 2020 with nearly 11.9 million vapes sold per month.

Gallatin City-County Health Department released some statistics that support the fact that these products are not being disposed of correctly. 75% of e-cigarette users don’t dispose of their devices properly and 26% of youth and 6% of adults in Montana are regularly using these nicotine products.

Gallatin Solid Waste and Healthy Gallatin is pleased to let the public know that they have opened an e-cigarette drop station. This is so simple to use and the theory behind it is to keep the hazardous materials out of the eco system and this is just one way you can participate.

The operating days you can make a drop is the second Saturday of the month OR you can go to the Bozeman Convenience Site during Gallatin Solid Waste's regular hours 8 AM to 3:30 PM and just go to the weigh station window and let them know you're making an e-cig drop.

If you can't make it out the Gallatin Solid Waste, you can also ask your local vape shop if they have a disposal drop. If you have any questions ask your favorite vape shop or contact Healthy Gallatin.
