Montana’s Most Iconic Roadside Stop Is A Comfort Food Favorite
Even though we're into October, it doesn't feel like Fall yet.
Here in Montana, ice cream is an extremely popular treat. There isn't much that's better than a scoop or two of your favorite flavor on a warm summer's day...or a warm October day. Of course, ice cream isn't just for the warm months, it's a treat we enjoy all year long here in Big Sky Country.

Montana has several different ice cream shops across the state from popular chains to locally owned Mom and Pops and when you throw in all the flavors each shop offers, chances are you probably have your favorite spot and flavor.
The folks over at Best History Class came out with The Guide Of America's Most Iconic Roadside Stops across the country where they decided to highlight some of the most famous food stops. Burgers, Bar-B-Q, Pizzarias, Fried Chicken, and Donuts shops all made the list, including a popular ice cream shop in Montana.
Before we reveal the best spot to grab a scoop or two, here are a few of our favorite Montana restaurants no longer around.

Which Montana Ice Cream Shop made the list of most iconic road stops in America?
That distinction goes to The Big Dipper in Missoula.
The Big Dipper in Missoula has been serving up classic flavors as well as unique creations since 1995 and has become an instant classic with two Missoula locations. The Big Dipper also has locations in both Billings and Helena. However, the Higgins location is the spot that made the list of iconic roadside stops.
