I'm not going to lie, skiing looks like a lot of fun, however, I have weak ankles and my balance isn't all that great. I feel like if I did go skiing I would end up on YouTube as one of those fat people that falls and everyone laughs at.
If you find yourself longing to strap on a pair of skis or take out your snowboard, you'll find different locations throughout the state, but there is one Montana town that is ranked among the very best when it comes to skiing.

Montana has right around 16 ski resorts across The Treasure State. Some are for the "every man" while others are a little more fancy and require a "membership". Oh, and even if you aren't a pro, that's ok because they have trails and runs from folks of all ages and ski levels.
What Montana towns are the best for skiing?
When you think of skiing lots of folks think of places in Colorado or Utah, however, Montana has its share of some fantastic ski towns. US Culture came out with a list of the 20 Best Ski Towns in the country and two Montana towns made the list, with one landing in the Top 10.
First up, Whitefish. Whitefish ranks 14th in the 20 Best Ski Towns. Whitefish is a popular place all year round, however, when it comes to the winter months, folks come from all over to strap on the boots and hit the slopes.
Next is Big Sky.
Big Sky ranks 9th on the list of the Best Ski Towns in America. Big Sky is not only a beautiful place but there is some world-class skiing going on as well. The area is known for its high-dollar real estate, cool shops, and of course the infamous Yellowstone Club. Luckily for the rest of us, you don't have to have Yellowstone Club money to enjoy all that Big Sky offers.
One of the coolest features at Big Sky is the new Lone Peak Tram. The tram goes to the top of Lone Peak and can be used for skiing or sightseeing. Those who want to just ride up to the top of the mountain, enjoy the view, and ride back down can do so for 10 bucks per person. One of the coolest parts of the ride is you can see 10 mountain ranges across the area from the top.
