Man VS Beast: How Would You Handle A Wildlife Encounter In Montana?

I don't know if you've seen the videos that are going around social media with the moose in Big Sky and the black bear in Manhattan. In one, the moose is sprayed with bear spray outside of the house. In the other, a black bear broke into a house and was eventually shot.

The weird thing about both of these cases, a whole lot of folks were cheering for the animals instead of the people.

Montana has its ups and downs, and one of the big complaints is the unkindness of some of our states residents. Now, don't shoot the messenger (no pun intended) I'm just repeating what has been said. Some say that Montana is a very rude place.

I will admit, that there are those who are a bit unwelcoming, however, for the most part, folks here are extremely nice. One of the reasons I enjoy it so much is because it reminds me of where I was born and raised. In the event of a disaster, folks come together and help each out out. Neighbors helping neighbors, strangers helping strangers.

How would you handle a Montana wildlife encounter?

Now, when it comes to wildlife, I love the fact that we are surrounded by it. It's one of the things that makes Montana so special. However, if there was a moose that was trying to go after one of my dogs, or if a black bear broke into my house and refused to leave, I would take action as well, as much as it would bother me, my families safety comes first.

So, to all those out there talking smack, what would you do? Pretend you are in that situation with no time to make a plan. What would your actions be? Would you be so judgmental?
