There is a video circulating around that is raising eyebrows across Montana and beyond. The footage, shared online, shows members of the Browning High School boys wrestling team being turned away from a McDonald’s.
The incident occurred in Ronan on Thursday, January 15th. You can watch the video below, and you can see why its bringing attention from all around.
According to Browning Public Schools, the team was traveling from Polson to Missoula to compete in the Rocky Mountain Wrestling Classic when they stopped in Ronan for food. The video was recorded by one of the students, and you can hear the McDonald’s employee telling the group that they would not be served.
The McDonald's location has made a statement to KPAX news and this is what they reported:
“We’re aware of the incident that occurred at our Ronan restaurant, which was the result of an unfortunate misunderstanding – and not in any way a reflection of our values. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this has caused. We’ve addressed the situation with our team and personally reached out to Browning High School to make things right. Let me be clear: Everyone is welcome in our restaurant. We’re honored to serve the Ronan community and look forward to welcoming all students at any time." - Owners, Chris and Melissa Crawshaw, shared with MTN.
The school also has posted a notice (see below).  The lack of information from McDonalds, even for the brief amount of time, fueled questions and speculation online.

The school reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all students are treated fairly and with dignity when representing their school. From McDonald's perspective, they have stated it was a mistake, but still, it has caused a big stir in the community.
