I realize that many people don't believe in ghosts or things that are haunted. I am not one of those people. Years ago, I worked at a radio station that used to be a bank back during the Great Depression. As the story goes, several people lost everything they had, and a few of the employees decided that it was too much to take, so they took their own lives.

I can tell you that I saw something like a person walking down the stairs and entering the old vault. At first, I was pretty shaken, but after a couple of times, it became somewhat normal.

Montana is certainly no stranger to things like haunted places and ghosts.

There are all kinds of tales about haunted buildings and places here in Big Sky Country. From old hotels and mansions to cemeteries and battlefields, Montana doesn't lack when it comes to paranormal activity.

What is the most haunted place or item in Montana?

So, what is the most haunted place or thing in Montana? According to one source, the most haunted item in Montana can be found in the town of Butte.

Butte has a long history of haunted places, and one of those places is the Dumas Brothel. The Dumas is considered by many as one of the most haunted buildings not only in Montana, but in America. A working Brothel up until the late 20th century, the Dumas is known to have more than one ghost walking the halls.

However, according to one source, it's not the ghosts that make the list, it's something in the old Brothel itself.

Phamtom Vibes is a social site that pointed out the most haunted items or things in each state and when it came to Montana, "the Singing Mirror" in the Dumas Brothel is considered the most haunted item in Montana.

So what makes this particular mirror so unique? According to many, the mirror reflects a murdered worker who hums lullabies. If that's not creepy enough, it's also said that when the mirror fogs up, there are hand prints left with no one touching it.
