For those of us who are living here in Montana, hoping to one day have the money to buy a home, I'm right there with you.

I often get on the real estate websites to check out the different listings; heck, I even get emails letting me know about homes in my area. We decided to call Bozeman home, and as much as we love living here, as you know, real estate in Bozeman isn't cheap. In fact, it's one of the more expensive places in the country.

My real estate friends keep telling me that now is the time to buy, and I get it. They need to make a living as well; however, there are several homes that I simply can't afford, and the ones that I can, they're selling for twice as much as they're worth. I mean, why would you spend 700 thousand dollars on a house that is worth 350 thousand dollars everywhere else?

I keep thinking that if I hold out, at some point the housing prices will drop down and it will be a better deal, except that might not be true.

I've heard folks talk about a big crash and how prices are going to drop by tens of thousands of dollars, and while that gives me the warm fuzzies inside, I just came across an article that took those warm fuzzies, beat them up, kicked them for good measure, and threw them in the garbage.
