For many Montanans, Bozeman isn't their thing.

The once cow town continues to grow and transform into a modern, touristy, town that for many, feels less and less like Montana each day. Lets face it, change is hard for many, and when you take a town that was known for rodeo and turn it into some sort of bougee place for the folks over at the YC, well, that might not go over well.

I mean, they keep beating the Griz every chance they get and you can imagine how that goes over in Missoula. The Griz fans make all kinds of excuses and will point to records of years past, but it seems that Montana State and found a winning formula and that has not gone over well for some across Big Sky Country.

But that's not all, there is another reason to hate Bozeman and it's a financial one. According to the folks over at Payscale, Bozeman is one of the most expensive places to call home. I know, I know, that's not BREAKING NEWS, but are you aware of the numbers?

Why do people hate Bozeman?

We all know that housing in Bozeman is higher than most of Montana, but according to this data, it is higher than most of America. How much higher? According to the data, 55 percent higher than the national average. Yep, you read that right, more than half.

While Bozeman residents pay less for utilities than the average American, they do pay 3 percent more for groceries. If you add all of this up, it calculates to a cost of living that is almost 30 percent higher than the national average.
