As most of us who live in Bozeman know, there are a ton of people coming in and out of our town and our state. More than we probably imagined. During the summer time we can see it on the roads. Campers, RV's, and vans full of tourists are constantly crowding our roads and national parks.

The Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport has seen a huge increase in customers flying as well, especially during the winter months when driving isn't nearly as desirable.

Just recently, the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport has completed two very important projects. The projects together cost around 23 million dollars to complete. With the airport seeing an increase from about 300,000 passengers using the airport to now over 1.2 million, these two additions will hopefully make travel much smoother.

The first update completed was a new market inside the airport. The idea behind adding the new market is to help with long lines. Having a bigger location to grab snacks and drinks, or a new book, will help with wait times.

The other addition recently completed was an updated bagging system. When you have a large increase in travelers like we are seeing, this updated bagging system should make things run incredibly smoother.

The new bagging system can be compared to the system used in both Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT. Although those two airports are significantly larger than Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, the new system is expected to run the same.

The new bagging system is also the most electronically advanced upgrade in the airport's history. With travelers continuing to use the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, the numbers will most likely going to continue to grow. My guess is there will be more updates to come in the near future.
