GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — Investigators say a woman who was found face down in her driveway in northern Montana likely died of exposure.
The Great Falls Tribune reports 48-year-old Lisa Marie Doty was found dead on the south side of the city Saturday.
According to the Cascade County Sheriff's Office, her vehicle slid off the road and became stuck in a ditch about five blocks from her home early that morning. A passerby gave her a ride to her house and left.
Investigators say Doty couldn't get inside because she had accidentally dropped her keys near her vehicle. Temperatures dropped as low as minus 14 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 25 degrees Celsius) that morning, and Doty was not dressed for the weather.
An autopsy determined that exposure and alcohol likely played a role in her death.
